Duties Description ASSIGNMENT: These positions are dedicated to the NYS Courts Department of Public Safety’s Security Infrastructure Technology and Equipment endeavors. These include the Unified Court System's ability to maintain, update and expand the installations of specialized Public Safety security infrastructure such as network security cameras and access control systems, wireless duress technology, radio communications, and security screening equipment. These positions require some statewide travel and may also require off-hours support for mission critical issues. These are in-office positions with the potential for work from home 1 day per week.
* The following responsibilities outline the requirements for the position:
- Conduct facility surveys for the placement, installation and maintenance of network security cameras, access control and wireless duress systems.
- Prepare, review and submit technical documents for RFQs (Request For Quote) and state contract purchasing of security camera and access control systems and enhancements.
- Update network security camera and access control systems due to facility renovations/additions.
- Mark up security camera, access control and wireless duress floor plans, for submission to vendors and municipalities.
- Coordinate repairs of network security cameras, access control, and wireless duress system components that resulted in outages.
- Monitor current network security camera systems and coordinate system upgrades with local facilities and contracted vendors (this includes PC hardware, software and video monitors).
- Provide ongoing technical assistance for long-term security camera and access control installation/upgrade projects.
- Review applications for FCC licensing requirements for existing and upcoming radio communications frequencies.
- Coordinate inter-agency communications equipment, frequency and MOU process with Districts/Commands, external agencies and authorized vendors.
- Coordinate with local courts/facilities concerning radio coverage problems and plan solutions for those issues (i.e. Repeaters).
- Test and evaluate new security infrastructure and screening equipment products and technology.
- Coordinate major security equipment purchases and repairs for x-ray machines, magnetometers, AED lifesaving devices.
- Coordinate with senior technology staff regarding video data storage, capacity and server standards.
- Provide virtual and field server management, equipment hardware and software updates.
- Produce timely video footage requests to ranking Public Safety staff.
- Technical knowledge of Axis video cameras, as well as Ocularis and Qognify/Hexagon Software.
- Technical knowledge of HID Card Readers/Isonas as well as C-CURE Software and DNA Fusion (Open Options) software platforms.

Minimum Qualifications JG-23 NETWORK/SYSTEM ENGINEER I
BASE SALARY: $84,659 + Location Pay
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of related technical experience in a help desk or technical environment; or An equivalent combination of education and related technical experience in a help desk or technical environment
OR
JG-21 NETWORK/SYSTEM TECHNICIAN III
BASE SALARY: $76,112 + Location Pay
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of related technical experience in a help desk or technical environment; or An equivalent combination of education and related technical experience in a help desk or technical environment.
OR
JG-18 NETWORK SYSTEM TECHNICIAN II
BASE SALARY: $64,971 +Location Pay
QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's degree from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of related technical experience in a help desk or technical environment; or An equivalent combination of education and related technical experience in a help desk or technical environment.
Additional Comments LOCATION: Statewide - Positions may be assigned to locations based on the selected applicants.
LOCATION PAY: +$4,920 (NYC, Long Island, Westchester, Rockland)
+$2,460 (Dutchess, Putnam, Orange Counties)
