Salary RangeFrom $53764 to $68630 Annually
Duties Description Obtain knowledge and understanding of the FBI CJIS Security Policy.
Assist NYS agencies with CJIS policy enforcement of compliance standards, policy and documentation updates, audits, and quality control.
Assist with the review and creation of training materials relative to the CJIS Security Compliance Unit.
Creation of monthly newsletter to all Terminal Agency Coordinators (TACs).
Maintain NYSP hardware and software inventory database.
Review reported cyber incidents, NYS ITS cybersecurity advisories, CISA advisories, etc.
Make sure that operating systems and software are being patched and up to date.
Establish a normal operational baseline of NYSP systems.
Review logs and perform analysis to identify any operational anomalies.
Maintain a record of security incidents reported by NYS agencies.
Review IT Security Audit responses from NYS Agencies.
Remediate and educate IT Security Audits that do not meet the requirements.
Review IT Security Audits when new FIB CJIS Security Policy is published to identify which questions need to be updated / changed / renewed.
Work on special projects as needed.
Minimum Qualifications A bachelor’s degree or higher.
OR
An associate degree and two years of related experience in one or more of the following areas: telecommunications; computer science, cybersecurity, eJusticeNY Integrated Justice Portal use, NCIC for state access to CJI data, land based mobile radio communications dispatch, IT customer support and training, desktop support, computer programming, business/systems analysis, program design, program testing, application development.
OR
Four years of related experience in one or more of the following areas: telecommunications; computer science, cybersecurity, eJusticeNY Integrated Justice Portal use, NCIC for state access to CJI data, land based mobile radio communications dispatch, IT customer support and training, desktop support, computer programming, business/systems analysis, program design, and program testing, application development.
