Duties Description Under the supervision of the Director of the Energy Bureau at the Main Office, the selected candidate’s duties will include, but not be limited to:
• Collecting, analyzing, and summarizing energy-related data;
• Interpreting and reporting findings on current or proposed renewable energy programs, policies, and legislation;
• Assisting in the organization, maintenance, and updating of electronic information and documentation for energy-related projects;
• Assisting in the tracking and management of energy-related projects through all phases necessary to plan, develop, and construct;
• Communicating effectively with engineers, staff and executives, consultants, vendors, and utility providers on specific energy-related projects and OPRHP’s energy programs as a whole;
• Assisting in the development and gathering of documentation for submitting interconnection applications to utilities for new renewable energy projects, as outlined in the NYS Standardized Interconnection Requirements (SIR); and
• Developing reports on project metrics, goals, and progress towards meeting the State’s goal of offsetting 100% of its electric use with renewables by 2030 as stated in the 2023 State of the State and Executive Order 22.
Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience in maintenance, construction, landscaping, business operations, park operations, or in an organized recreation program.
Additional Comments PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associate’s degree and/or experience in an energy-related field (e.g., solar, EV charging, energy efficiency, building electrification, sustainability) is preferred but not required.
• Experience with project management and ability to work independently.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
• Ability to communicate effectively and in a positive manner with others.
OPERATIONAL NEEDS:
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
• Must be able to travel if needed.
