Duties Description Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Commissioner of the Investigations Unit, the Assistant Commissioner will serve as the Regional Director and be responsible for overseeing the work and operations of the Regional Office. Duties include but are not limited to:


· Lead the 9 regional investigations units, developing strategies, policies, and procedures for investigating human rights violations.

· Align unit objectives with departmental goals and ensure investigations are thorough, impartial, and efficient.

· Oversee and supervise investigations, particularly complex cases involving discrimination, harassment, or abuse.

· Assign cases, monitor progress, and review findings for accuracy and adherence to protocols.

· Collaborate with senior leaders to establish investigation policies, ensuring legal and ethical standards.

· Create and implement training for investigators on best practices, human rights laws, and sensitivity in handling cases.

· Work with government agencies, community organizations, and advocacy groups to address human rights issues.

· Represent the department in public forums and interagency meetings, promoting transparency and accountability.

· Analyze investigation data to identify trends and suggest policy improvements.

· Prepare reports on case status, trends, and investigation outcomes for senior leadership.

· Identify potential risks in investigation processes and implement safeguards.

· Ensure compliance with all human rights-related laws, ethical standards, and departmental regulations.

· Support educational programs and public awareness campaigns on human rights.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and six years of relevant experience.
