Duties Description Duties include but are not limited to:
1. Perform complex financial adjustments on defaulted student loan accounts.
2. Draft well-written email responses to inquiries from Trellis, lenders/servicers and HESC staff regarding FFEL loans transferred, issues with documentation, and/or to request additional information. Compile supporting documentation from microfilm, paper, or microfiche to include in the email responses.
3. Supervise staff; answer questions and provide guidance on projects. Monitor workflow, staff performance and time/attendance.
4. Use HESC mainframe systems, the Default Client Management Systems (DMCS) and Active Loan Finance, to research accounts, update information and print screens as needed. Update information retrieved into complex spreadsheets and databases.
5. Retrieve and compile collateral and judgement documentation, from microfilm, PDFs, and paper files, for accounts assigned to the U.S. Department of Education or ECMC and accounts Transferred to Trellis.
6. Perform various clerical or office assistance tasks such as scanning documents, retrieving documents from microfilm or microfiche, verifying accuracy of data from scanned documents, filing and faxing.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Minimum QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years* of experience performing clerical, keyboarding, or paraprofessional work in an office environment.
*Bachelor’s degree may substitute one year of relevant experience.

Additional Comments TELECOMMUTING INFORMATION: Initially positions work full-time in the office and a hybrid telecommuting schedule of up to 50% remote work can be discussed with the hiring manager during the interview.
NOTE: HESC’s business hours require working between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
