Duties Description Under the general direction of the Deputy Director Rehab Hospital, the Project Director will serve as the Information Technology Director and will direct and administrate all operations and security activities of the Information Technology Department at Helen Hayes Hospital. Duties will include:

• Serves a liaison to DOH main office, vendors, and Hospital IT department, ensuring all ongoing projects follow DOH and New York State ITS technology standards and policies.

• Provides technical subject matter professional expertise for information technology and security activities related to functionalities of current programs and services provided by the hospital

• Responsible for the management of operations of information Technology Services (ITS), including but not limited to staffing, vendor management, helpdesk, information security, and project management.
• Provide the Hospital with professional guidance in matters relating to business process improvements and the development, acquisition, implementation, and use of supporting applications and projects. This includes participating in groups and activities supporting business processes evaluation and design as the technology expert.

• Direct all phases of the project development cycle, including the identification of opportunities, the acquisition or development of solutions and the implementation of supportive systems, standards, processes and procedures

• Works collaboratively with members of the Hospital senior management team and others in designing, implementing and evaluating system policies and strategies for allocating financial, personne1, materials and informational resources

• Assess impact of current and proposed information technology and information security policies and provides guidelines and recommendations on corrective action plans.

• Performs the full range of supervisory responsibilities for staff assigned, including training and evaluation.

Minimum Qualifications Either 1. a bachelor's or higher level degree in any field including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science AND five years of experience in the following computer related areas, including two years of supervisory experience or one year of managerial experience in: computer programming; network, server, storage, and systems management; telecommunications, IT customer support and training; computer installation, diagnosis, and repair; technical writing; computer security; knowledge management; database administration, design and management; internet/intranet development, design, and maintenance; information technology project management; design and development of geographic information systems or computer aided drafting applications; computer programming; business/systems analysis; program design; or program testing;

Or

2. A bachelor’s or higher level degree in any field AND six years of experience in computer related areas as described in #1 above, including two years of supervisory experience or one year of managerial experience;

Or

3. an associates degree* with 15 semester credit hours in a computer science field AND seven years of experience in computer related areas as described in #1 above, including two years of supervisory experience or one year of managerial experience;

Or

4. eight years of experience in computer related areas as described in #1 above, including two years of supervisory experience or one year of managerial experience.
Supervisory Experience is defined as the responsibility for assigning work and overseeing subordinate staff or project(s) in an Information Technology (IT) environment.
Managerial Experience is defined as the responsibility for determining and prioritizing the workload of a project, program, or organization in an Information Technology (IT) environment, including supervision of subordinate staff, and ensuring compliance with related goals, budget, and laws in conjunction with other managers or executive level staff.

The posted salary range ($122,425 - $149,039) includes $4,000 of downstate adjustment.

This position may require travel throughout New York State including overnights to areas not served by public transportation.
