Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:
- Independently operate digital printing machines and manage all steps in the printing process to produce high-quality printed materials.
- Supervise and train Print Equipment Operator 1 (Digital) staff on machine operation, setup procedures, and best practices for print production.
- Plan and schedule print jobs, ensuring timely completion while prioritizing workload based on project deadlines and available staff or resources.
- Inspect printed materials for quality assurance, checking for accuracy, color consistency, and adherence to specifications before final output.
- Supervise or perform the routine maintenance and minor repairs on printing machines, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely. Work with maintenance contractors as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, including job orders, downtime, and materials used, to facilitate inventory management and reporting.
- Prepare machines for printing by loading paper, making necessary adjustments, and conducting test runs to verify settings.
- Pull supplies from stock and track inventory for print jobs.
- Collaborate with other staff members, including design and production teams, to ensure alignment on project specifications and timelines.
- Discuss any work-related problems or deficiencies with supervisors, seeking guidance and advice for improvement.
- Demonstrate high customer service skills and teamwork.
- Support mailroom functions, including sorting and distributing incoming mail, preparing outgoing packages, shrink wrapping, and maintaining mail records as needed.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe environment in the print shop, reporting any hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.
- Ensure that the printing area and workstations are clean and organized, contributing to an efficient workflow.
- Perform the full range of supervisory duties.
- Additional duties as requested.
- Must have a valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
• Ability to initiate and maintain relationships across a diverse set of stakeholders
• Ability to bend, lift, stand, and walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 45 pounds.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment.
Minimum Qualifications NY HELPS Non-Competitive Minimum Qualifications:
One year of printing equipment operating experience.

70.1 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of permanent or contingent-permanent as a Grade 07 or higher determined to be similar by Civil Service.

Additional Comments Candidates with no previous state service will begin at the starting rate of the salary range listed above.
