Duties Description The New York State Senate Minority Finance Committee is seeking applicants to fill the position of Finance Committee Analyst who will work as part of a team in Albany on behalf of the Senate Minority Leader, Minority Senators, and relevant central and member staff.

The Finance Analyst performs analytical functions related to the annual State budget proposal, as well as analyzing and briefing legislation that has been introduced in the Senate Finance Committee and relevant Senate committees.

In this dynamic role, you will:

•Provide analysis of Executive Budget, independent house budgets and Enacted Budget materials for the Conference
•Offer policy and budget support and research for Senate Republican Conference Members attending committee meetings, joint fiscal hearings, floor proceedings, and other public forums
•Brief conference members on legislation that has been proposed while tracking committees and legislation in the state Senate and state Assembly
•Independently research various information sources and public record databases to collect and analyze data to determine potential impacts on affected entities across New York State
•Work with Albany and statewide staff to assist Senators
•Foster relationships with relevant stakeholder, advocacy, and constituency groups
•Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications To move forward, you must have a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred), and be proficient in Excel.

Additional Comments Compensation ranges from $65,000 to $70,000 and will be determined by educational experience as well as relevant work experience.
