Duties Description Under the direction of senior leadership within the Office of Information Technology Services\Chief Information Security Office\IT Asset Management (ITAM) bureau, the incumbent will serve as the Asset Management Data Analytics Team Manager and oversee the lifecycle of IT assets including hardware, software, and related systems. This position is responsible for leading the data analytics and refresh planning function within ITAM, establishing governance processes, and ensuring timely, accurate reporting to stakeholders. Additionally, this position will be responsible for ensuring alignment with organizational goals, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
The position requires communicating orally and in writing with various individuals including management, users, vendors, and other IT staff. The incumbent will have to work with ITS teams and upper-level agency management to resolve technically complex and politically sensitive issues under pressure. Additional information on work schedule will be discussed at time of interview
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
• Lead and manage the Data and Program Management section, providing direction and support for staff and the program overall.
• Develop and maintain team policies and procedures to ensure efficiency of operations and promote transparency into the ITS asset management program.
• Ensure compliance with licensing agreements, procurement rules and regulatory standards
• Partner with Internal Controls to ensure timely documentation and evidence is available for control testing.
• Oversee the deployment and disposal of IT hardware and software assets.
• Ensure consistent reconciliations are performed between management consoles and inventory records.
• Identify risks such as undocumented assets, untimely updates, or incomplete reconciliations
• Implement controls to mitigate risks of compliance failures, inefficiencies, and reputational impact.
• Deliver actionable reports to Deputy Commissioners for Technology on their respective assets.
• Communicate asset management performance, risks and assurance levels to IT leadership and oversight bodies.
• Perform the full range of supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications Non-competitive: Eight years of information technology, cybersecurity, or information assurance experience*, including two years at the supervisory level.
*Substitutions:
A bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science or related field substitutes for three years of required experience; any bachelor’s substitutes for two years of required experience.
An associate degree with 15 semester credit hours in computer science or related field may substitute for one year of required experience. Candidates in a bachelor’s degree program with at least 15 semester credit hours in computer science or related field may substitute such credits for one year of required experience.
A master’s degree or higher in computer science or related field substitutes for one year of required experience.
Additional Comments ITS will not offer permanent employment to any candidate unless the candidate provides documentation that they are authorized to accept work in the United States on a permanent basis. It is the policy of ITS not to hire F1 or H1 visa holders for permanent employment or to sponsor non-immigrant aliens for temporary work authorization visas or for permanent residence.

If eligible, positions located in New York City will receive an additional $3,400 downstate adjustment location pay with regular annual salary. Positions located in the Mid-Hudson will receive an additional $1,650 adjustment location pay.
