Duties Description The Office of Financial Management, Bureau of Community Budget and Financial Management Group is recruiting to fill a Data Analyst 2 position. The incumbent will be responsible for; large portions of the Aid to Localities Financial System (ALFS) modernization project, ongoing maintenance and management for ALFS and interlinked systems, and creating data visualizations and reporting tools in Power BI.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Maintain an understanding of unit goals, enacted business processes, methods for data mining, reporting needs, and fiscal models that include complex computations.
• Assess and develop business intelligence resources, that improve business process, reporting, and automated functionality to support user needs.
• Develop data visualizations aimed to promote versatility, ease and efficiency.
• Stay current on analytical tools that can be used to develop solutions.
• Evaluate business unit requirements and preferences for data warehousing.
• Manage quality control for system updates, data integrity, and systematic methods of achieving unit goals.
• Supervise and train lower-level staff.
• Create written reports and statistical analysis.
• Effectively communicate results and recommendations.
• Participate in efforts to redesign, and provide ongoing maintenance and management for, the Aid to Localities Financial System (ALFS).
Minimum Qualifications Non-competitive:
Seven years of experience* in data visualization, and statistical models
and data mining tools.
*Substitution: Associate degree may substitute for two years of specialized experience; bachelor's degree may substitute for four years of specialized experience; master's degree may substitute for five years of specialized experience; J.D. may substitute for six years of specialized experience; Ph.D. may substitute for seven years of specialized experience.
