Duties Description The duties of this position will include but are not limited to the following (depending on the work site):

Parks & Recreation Aide 1 ($16.00/hour):
o May assist with minor maintenance, clean restrooms and floors, trash and recycling removal, dusting, other groundskeeping duties. Provide tours and information to patrons. Handle cash/credit card transactions and operate point of sale system. Address patron questions/complaints in person or by phone, providing accurate information, or directing calls to the appropriate recipient. Complete daily deposits and related paperwork at end of shift. Operate/maintain gift shop. Ensure safe operation of amusement park rides: loading and unloading patrons, ensuring all ride safety procedures are followed, recognition of inconsistent ride sounds or ride behaviors and reporting of such, etc.

Parks & Recreation Aide 2 ($17.62/hour):
o May assist with the following: trail mapping and signage, trail corridor clearing, drainage surfacing installation, trail bridge and boardwalk, and other maintenance; retaining wall construction and maintenance; installation and maintenance of erosion and sediment control measures. May answer patron calls, repair windows, screens, locks, minor carpentry & plumbing, cabin & campsite inspections, energy audits, appliance & furnace repair, playground inspections, fire extinguisher inspections, etc. May help the Horticulturist with greenhouse, arboretum, watering plants throughout park, and work weekends. May work with education department in delivering educational and recreational programming and assist with events. May assist with seasonal and transient slip registration and fee collection procedures. May perform routine office tasks including answering phones and responding to low-level patron inquiries. May assist the Park Manager with preparing bank deposits; issuing permits for dock use, commercial activities. May assist with dock installation and disassembly at the start and end of the Marina Operating season.

Parks & Recreation Aide 3 ($18.19/hour):
o May supervise office staff, provide support, recognize and respond to emergencies; schedule and complete appropriate paperwork for shelter reservations. May perform Grounds/Maintenance and Toll Booth duties. May assist with the following: seasonal and transient slip registration and fee collection procedures; routine office tasks including answering phones and responding to patron inquiries; prepare bank deposits; issuing permits for dock use, commercial activities, and coordinating pavilion rental operations; sponsored events; collect and report daily water readings; dock utility and water hook ups and disassembly at the start and end of the Marina Operating season. Assist higher-level staff with basic trades projects; facility building winterization; create interpretive displays and panels, scan documents, create digital archives, create and deliver presentations. May draft collections policies for each park and accession collections; tracks and coordinate assignments, sets up and manages paper and electronic files, use IT applications, operate office equipment, maintains and enters information into spreadsheets, maintains scheduling calendars, assist staff with travel and paperwork, draft meeting minutes, tracks purchases, enters information into SFS, and assist with office support functions.

Parks & Recreation Aide 4 ($19.04/hour):
o Assist the Program Aide by supporting activities directly related to: Inventory/Asset Management, Pool Vehicle Usage, and Rental Vehicle procurement and management, Aid in processing refunds and related administrative tasks, Complete general office support duties such as filing, copying, and scanning documents, Utilize both paper and electronic filing systems; and assist with physical file retention and storage, create, update, and maintain records information in spreadsheets and databases. Review all clauses and stipulations in concession contracts including, but not limited to, quality and quantity of merchandise, hours of operation, price regulation, cash management, maintenance, accessibility, compliance with sales tax laws, and customer service; and help determine compliance therewith. Audit departmental inventories, equipment inventories, concession inventories, and warehouse inventories. Grounds work, operates tractors and other power equipment, tows trailers, plows snow, semi-skilled maintenance and repair tasks, chainsaw use/tree felling, interacts with public in office setting, cleaning as assigned. Assist in repairs to amusement rides and attractions. Operate and perform preventative and basic maintenance of equipment such as park vehicles, lawn mowers, additional grounds equipment, skid steer, tractors, etc. May be required to assist other operational departments as assigned, including, but not be limited to: ride operation, basic maintenance work (such as painting projects), or groundskeeping. Complete general office support duties such as answering phones, taking messages, filing, copying, and scanning documents. Utilize both paper and electronic filing systems; and assist with physical file retention and storage. Create, update, and maintain records information in spreadsheets and databases. Reconcile reports with spreadsheet information. Creates recruitment or event materials such as flyers or invitations. Searches for information using various sources including the internet and calls. Obtain quotes and places approved orders. Creates and files expense reports for approval. Completes forms in accordance with agency procedures. Maintains scheduling and event calendars. Schedules and confirms some appointments for supervisor. Tracks and coordinates assignments. May provide aid with trainings and/or orientation for new staff. May take meeting minutes, and/or prepare material from dictation.



Parks & Recreation Aide 5 ($20.45/hour):
o May assist with the design of signs, publications, and museum displays; operate sign making equipment, hand letter signs, spray sign surfaces, assist with cutting and applying reflective vinyl to signs, remove paint from damaged signs, clean signs, assemble signs, install signs in field. May assist in installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing fixtures and appliances, repairs, maintenance, and servicing of automotive and mechanical equipment; replacement, repair, and maintenance of water, sewer, gas, and propane lines. Orders parts and help coordinate repair work in Garage. May perform monitoring and testing procedures on potable water and wastewater systems. May perform accounts receivable invoicing and revenue reconciliation in the Business Office, enters data into revenue tracking applications and spreadsheets, reviews weekly revenue packets from each facility, compares reports and emails deposit slips/Aspira/Ports reports to Albany Revenue, prepares utility bills for rental properties and concessionaires/emails/mails, logs photocopies of rental property payments and utility payments, logs payments received, prepares deposit slips, receives deposit receipts back and updates deposit spreadsheets for review, utilizes payroll reporting system to generate reports for temp/seasonal budget tracking. May assist Regional Management, facility management, and department heads with information technology tasks, troubleshooting, and projects. Gather supporting information and produce site maps, floor plans, etc. to assist in execution of ITS network buildout and expansion projects. Identify resources, purchase equipment, and install network cabling hardware. Assist with ITS ticket submission, and provide on-site feedback and information regarding issues. Produce and maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and IT equipment as assigned.

Parks & Recreation Aide 6 ($21.57/hour):
o Drive large trucks to haul materials and transport equipment, operate snowplows and heavy equipment, perform road and drainage maintenance, complete construction tasks using heavy equipment, operate garbage trucks, transport garbage, operate mowers and brush hogs, install and repair traffic signs, traffic control for work zones, install and maintain erosion and sediment control, manual labor. Assist with the operation of the water and wastewater systems within the Region. Water quality sampling and monitoring; transport water quality samples to the lab; ship samples to the lab; enter and track water quality data into spreadsheet.

Parks & Recreation Aide 7 ($24.13/hour):
o Manage the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of residential and commercial electrical equipment and primary and secondary electrical infrastructure. Repair and install panels, light fixtures, generators, motors, and controls. Work involving overhead and underground electrical systems. Act as field lead for stewardship field and work-based projects. Report writing for stewardship projects. Daily and weekly reports to regional environmental stewardship lead.
