Duties Description Under the direction of the Park Operations Manager 1, the selected candidate will be responsible for the following job duties which include but are not limited to:

• Operation of the region’s equipment inventory, usage tracking and surplus programs.
• Perform data entry, run reports, issue asset tags, perform spot checks and communicate opportunities and deficiencies.
• Work closely with both the Park Operations Manager 1 and the Agency’s Equipment and Fleet Management Unit to ensure new equipment is properly received, inventoried and registered as appropriate using Asset Cloud and/or Asset Works.
• Coordinate with the Region’s Gideon Auto Garage to ensure asset identification tags, decals, EZ Passes and Telematics are installed.
• Ensure mileage clipboards with WEX cards are created for new vehicles.
• Schedule and coordinate the public viewing of surplus equipment and document the sale and pick up of purchased items from auction.
• Coordinate the region’s annual vehicle rust prevention program.
• Track and update region’s IT equipment inventory.
• Guide and train the region’s facility equipment coordinators on the inventorying and surplusage of equipment.
• Record and track region’s equipment loan program.
• Record and track vehicle safety recalls.
• Directly supervise an Assistant Coordinator.

Minimum Qualifications One year of experience in the operation and/or maintenance of a park, historic site, golf course, or recreational facility;

OR - One year of experience in any of the following fields:
• Law enforcement or security
• Firefighting
• Emergency Medical Services
• Environmental education or stewardship
• Natural resources management (e.g., forest management, wildlife management/preservation)
• Historic preservation or interpretation
• Landscaping or grounds maintenance
OR - One year of military service in any branch of the United States Armed Forces;
OR - Thirty (30) semester credit hours of college-level coursework from an accredited college or university;
OR - Completion of a two-year technical/trades school program;
OR - Two years of experience as a trade assistant working under the direct supervision of a skilled tradesperson.

Additional Comments OPERATIONAL NEEDS:

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
• Must have good written and verbal communication, and organizational skills.
• Must be proficient in or have the ability to learn Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Must be proficient in or have the ability to learn the asset management programs including Asset Works and Asset Cloud.
• Must be able to communicate verbally, as well as in writing and read and comprehend written material.
• Must participate, complete, and practice all required NYS trainings annually.
• Must be able to work outdoors year-round.
