Duties Description Review and analyze trends in program data
Establish baseline data
Develop surveys and interview guides for stakeholders (transplant center staff, program participants, Department staff, etc.)
Create continuous quality improvement plans for Department staff to improve processes and procedures of the program
Assist in planning a media campaign for the Living Donor Support Program
Assist in planning the next NYS Transplant Council meeting
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be a matriculated undergraduate or graduate college student. Documentation of Fall 2026 matriculation and enrollment in the Fall semester must be submitted with your resume.
Preferred Qualifications: College or graduate student interested in exploring a career in public health with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to work on multiple projects with various staff, prioritize assignments and meet deadlines, work independently and as part of a team, problem solve effectively. The student assistant should be flexible and responsive, have excellent oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills, and be proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Teams, Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint).
Additional Comments The Bureau of Organ Donation and Transplantation oversee the NYS Donate Life Registry, the Living Donor Support Program, the Transplant Council, and licensure and oversight of NYS transplant centers. In October 2025, the Bureau launched the new Living Donor Support Program aimed at decreasing financial barriers to becoming a living donor. The student assistant will collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data and develop recommendations to improve the program. The student will review and analyze process measure data, develop baseline data, and develop and implement quality improvement projects for the Living Donor Support Program. They will also conduct interviews with stakeholders to provide recommendations for improvements.
Telecommuting is permissible up to 50% of working hours based on operational needs and at the discretion of the assigned Program area.
