Duties Description The chosen candidate will perform a wide variety of administrative and insurance procurement activities. This will include, but not be limited to, assisting Agency Customers (insured) in meeting their insurance needs, reviewing insurance requirements against insurance policy documentation to ensure compliance with contract terms, work with contracted Broker of Record (BOR) and Agency Customer throughout policy procurement to ensure accurate and timely responses are received.
The chosen candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills:
• Detail oriented, with a high accuracy in work.
• Strong workload management.
• Effective time management, including: organization, prioritizing tasks, goal-setting, and planning;
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with hard deadlines.
• Independent decision making and problem-solving.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Provide the supervisor with complete and accurate product 97% of the time.
• Supervision and coaching of interns.
• Procure insurance policies on behalf of State Agencies and Authorities.
• Act as the liaison between the State Agencies and contracted insurance broker.
• Evaluate proposals submitted by the BOR to verify the policy meets all contract and/or state policy requirements.
• Provide detailed insurance coverage options and pricing to State entities.
• Manage the claims process for all claims submitted on BRIM's policies.
• Process certificate of insurance and endorsement requests.
• Process invoices for payment and follow up on overdue invoices.
• Miscellaneous insurance tasks and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Six years of experience* in commercial insurance, two years of which must include insurance customer service, insurance broker or insurance underwriting experience.
Substitutions:
An associate degree may substitute for two years of the general experience or a bachelor’s degree may substitute for four years of the general experience; a master’s degree may substitute for one additional year of the general experience.
NOTE: IN ORDER TO AWARD THE PROPER CREDIT FOR WORK EXPERIENCE, RESUMES MUST INCLUDE MONTH AND YEAR FOR START AND END DATES. IF ANY OF THIS EXPERIENCE IS LESS THAN FULL TIME YOU MUST INDICATE THE AVERAGE NUMBER OF HOURS WORKED PER WEEK.
