Duties Description Interns may perform the following duties:

• Assist with developing and delivering presentations for Consolidated Local Streets and Highway Improvement Program (CHIPS), Ferry Boat Program, and Emergency Relief (ER), and other federal aid trainings;

• Participate in the review and preparation of quarterly CHIPS reimbursements;

• Assist with compiling materials for monthly Regional Local Project Liaison (RLPL), ER, and CHIPS coordination calls with Regions;

• Help prepare outreach materials, guidance documents, and job aids;

• Support data entry, tracking, and reporting tasks related to program operations;

• Assist with research on program-related best practices and policy guidance;

• Attend internal team meetings and shadow Local Programs Bureau activities to gain exposure to State and Federal Aid administration.

Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.

Minimum Qualifications Must have completed at least 12 credit hours of college study and be currently enrolled in an accredited degree program.

Additional Comments Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

The salary range listed reflects the full range for this graded position. For new State employees appointed into graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
