Duties Description Bus Drivers regularly drive full-sized passenger buses on state facility grounds or over the road. Incumbents may post manifests and other records of goods and people transported in order to document safe delivery. They are responsible for the welfare and safety of their bus and passengers while on duty. Other duties include:
Knowledge of NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law as it applies to the safe and legal operation of the vehicle in question.
Knowledge of simple automotive repair and maintenance procedures.
Ability to lift and carry crates, cartons, boxes and other cargo onto and off of transport vehicles.
Ability in the operation of motor vehicles as required.
Drive a variety of motor vehicles, both on and off State property, in order to transport people, material and equipment
Tend to routine maintenance of vehicles operated to ensure that personnel and material are moved as required (change tires, check fluids and fills when needed, perform safety checks of vehicle horn, directional lights, head, tail, parking and emergency lights, etc.).
Minimum Qualifications Candidates must possess a valid Class B New York State Driver`s License.

This position is eligible for a down-state adjustment of $4,000.
This is a temporary, 12 month long position.
