Duties Description The New York State Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) provides operational support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year, supporting more than 4,900 applications for 53 New York State Agencies.

Under the direction of a Manager of Information Technology Services 1, the Technology Analyst 1 (AI), SG-23, will design, build, integrate, and validate new AI platforms, applications, and developer capabilities within AI Platform Engineering.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Translate approved requirements for seven defined projects into technical designs, delivery backlogs, development tasks, and acceptance criteria: GCP Secure AI Lab, AWS Secure AI Lab, Azure Secure AI Lab, AI Farm, FinOps Product, Kiro Enterprise, and RAG Application.
- Design, code, integrate, and test secure applications using Python, C#, .NET, PowerShell, and SQL as appropriate to each project; build application interfaces, database schemas, APIs, and automated deployment pipelines.
- Build the GCP Secure AI Lab release against the SAIL BRD, including Terraform provisioning, federated access, Cloud Workstations, collaborative notebooks, approved AI services, and test-data workflows. Implement and validate network isolation, controlled egress, sensitive-data protection, model safeguards, logging, and budget controls.
- Design and build AWS and Azure Secure AI Lab implementations, establishing provider-specific infrastructure-as-code, identity, network, developer-tool, and governance integrations. Validate repeatable deployment and approved security boundaries before acceptance.
- Build AI Farm capabilities for in-house model development and training, including approved data preparation, reproducible training pipelines, experiment tracking, model evaluation, versioned artifacts, and documented release criteria.
- Develop the FinOps Product as an in-house application for monitoring financial operations within CTO and ITS. Implement approved data integrations, validation and reconciliation logic, role-based financial reporting, and user-facing analysis capabilities.
- Build Kiro Enterprise enablement tooling for MCP registry publication and validation, license-utilization and right-sizing reports, usage telemetry integrations, and repeatable AWS account configuration. Test the new tooling and integrations against approved enterprise requirements.
- Develop the RAG Application, including document ingestion, retrieval, application interfaces, and access controls. Build approved source integrations and automated evaluation workflows; validate retrieval quality, security, and performance against agreed acceptance criteria.
- Build reusable platform automation and project integrations with enterprise systems, including Active Directory, SCCM, System Center Orchestrator, databases, and approved cloud services where required by the solution design.
- Implement DevSecOps and MLOps delivery pipelines, automated tests, and release controls. Conduct integration, security, performance, and user acceptance testing; correct defects identified during project validation.
- Produce architecture diagrams, source code, infrastructure definitions, test evidence, deployment instructions, and knowledge-transfer materials for each completed build. Coordinate release acceptance and transfer completed capabilities to designated service owners.
- Coordinate project dependencies and delivery reviews with the Manager of Information Technology Services 1, stakeholders, developers, and security and infrastructure teams. Follow applicable NYS laws, ITS policies, and approved engineering standards throughout design and delivery.
