Duties Description
The HIV/AIDS/STD MOU is a NYS DOH Program administered by the OCFS DJJOY to provide training for youth residing at DJJOY Facilities regarding the prevention, testing and treatment for HIV/AIDS/STDs. The qualified candidate will coordinate the MOU activities and submit the required reports to DOH. The training program involves selecting appropriate Train the Trainer trainings to prepare trainers for the task; researching and selecting a curriculum to be used by the trainers presenting the material to the youth; teaching the selected curriculum to the trainers; and monitoring the on-going training activities.
The reporting requirements include reports on the training curiculum and the process as well as statistics regarding other HIV/AIDS/STD activities which include number of youth trained, tested and treated for these diseases. The hired candidate will also be involved in updating HIV/AIDS/STDs Policies and Procedures.

Additional Comments Travel: 40%
Experience in HIV/AIDS/STD, with a background in Public Health, Nursing, Health Education; ability to work well in a busy, fast-paced office and to work independently is preferred. Organizational skills are strongly preferred, as are verbal and written communication skills. Computer skills are necessary. The scope of the program is statewide and will require travel, about 25-40%. Applicant will need a valid driver’s license.
