Minimum Qualifications Requirements:

•Bachelor's degree required. Preferably in Accounting, Information Systems, Finance, Business Management, or a closely related field
•Minimum 3 years financial aid experience or higher education/other related experience
•Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
•Ability to work under pressure to meet timelines and objectives
•Demonstrated knowledge and comfort utilizing various computer technologies and data analysis
•Ability to travel to workshops and conferences on behalf of the College, occasionally overnight
•Must be available to work evening and weekend hours as needed during peak times or special events
•Proficient in Microsoft Office

•Supervisory experience
•Expertise in financial aid systems including Ellucian Banner or similar student information enterprise system
•Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs

Duties Description Student Financial Services serves as the financial aid and student accounts office at SUNY Delhi. The Assistant Director of Financial Aid will provide direction and leadership for the day-to-day operations of the financial aid function as well as cross-functional support to student accounts. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, positive, forward-thinking individual who is able to solve problems and streamline processes within a fast-paced, customer service oriented environment. Strong technological and analytical skills are required along with a high degree of creativity and professional curiosity. The Assistant Director is responsible for staying current with rules and regulations that govern financial aid and will report directly to the Director of Financial Aid. This is a calendar year (12 month) professional appointment.

Duties Include:
•Provide leadership, mentoring and supervision to Financial Aid staff by assisting with solutions to day-to-day financial aid operations. These operations may include, but are not limited to: aid program administration, communication, academic progress, scholarships, compliance, customer support, fund reconciliation, and Banner operations
•Utilize knowledge of Federal and State financial aid regulations and keep abreast of changes in financial aid programs to ensure compliance. Attend various conferences and workshops to maintain core knowledge of Federal Title IV and state aid programs
•Provide high level customer service, advice, and counseling to students and families as they make decisions about college planning and financing along with providing support to current students and their families
•Review and evaluate financial aid applications ensuring compliance with all applicable rules, regulations and policies regarding student eligibility
•Perform need analysis, formulate financial aid packages, verify data, and utilize professional judgment in the readjustment of financial aid packages during the year on the basis of changed financial circumstance
•Assist with federal and EOP application verifications, ISIR, Direct Loan and state aid processing as needed
•Assist in the preparation and presentation of financial aid and financial literacy information for various campus groups, high school students and parents, workshops and recruitment sessions
•Assist the Director with performing tests within Ellucian Banner related to patches and releases
•Position requires extensive and timely communication/counseling to both current and potential parents and students in person, via email, and on the telephone

•Valid driver's license is required
•Salary range: $54,510 - $56,000
