Minimum Qualifications Six months of experience climbing and pruning trees AND must meet the physical and medical standards. When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.

Duties Description Perform a variety of tasks in the care and maintenance of trees under supervision including but not limited to the following: climb trees to be pruned or trimmed; rig ropes and tackle for self, tools and for removing parts of tree; cut down trees using chain or hand saws; maintain tools and equipment; may operate motor vehicles and light construction equipment occasionally; assigned to snow-ice control operations during winter months.
Reassignment to a Special Crew will affect Article 44 Seniority date.
Responsibilities also may include participating within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
