Minimum Qualifications STATE EMPLOYEE TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS FOR PERMANENT/CONTINGENT PERMANENT APPOINTMENT:
Current Office of General Services employee with permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service as a Contract Management Specialist 1 and interested in reassignment; OR current New York State employee with one year or more permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service as a Contract Management Specialist 1; OR current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service in a position allocated to a Grade 13 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 52.6, 70.1 or 70.4 of the Civil Service Law.*
New York State employees with current standing on the Professional Career Opportunity (PCO) eligible list with the score of 100 are encouraged to apply. Successful completion of two year traineeship leads to appointment as a Contract Management Specialist 1, SG-18.

*Candidates who are currently 55b/c eligible and possess a bachelor’s degree are encouraged to apply for this position.

*Successful completion of two year traineeship leads to appointment as a Contract Management Specialist 1, SG-18.
Duties Description The incumbent will initiate and manage the planning and development of procurement documents and contracts, and/or coordinate activities associated with implementing a procurement contract. The incumbent will serve as a member of a procurement team and report directly to a team lead.
Responsibilities will include all or several of the following, as well as other duties as assigned:
• developing bid documents and administering the solicitation and evaluation processes; reviewing/monitoring and tracking assigned workload by using internal databases, project management tools, and SharePoint records as required;
• performing a variety of functions related to contract management;
• assisting with special assignments and projects related to procurement.
