Minimum Qualifications Must be licensed and currently registered as a physician assistant by the New York State Education Department or possess a limited permit to practice as a Physician Assistant in New York State. If appointed with a limited permit, the candidate has one year from the date their permit was issued to obtain their license.

Duties Description Review presenting problem, date of onset, and duration. Obtains, clarifies, and records medical history of an individual and obtains medical information from other treatment providers. Determines the extent of previous treatment modalities for each difficulty or disability identified. Performs complete physical exams that may include vital signs, blood pressure, hydration status, Etc. Assesses data, discriminating between normal and abnormal findings. Develops or assists in the development of a health plan for primary, acute, or long-term care. Coordinates disease prevention and heal maintenance programs using available resources. Maintains records on all individuals examined or treated.
