Minimum Qualifications There are no education or experience qualifications for this class. Must be physically able to perform all duties of the position.
Availability to work a rotating weekend and holiday schedule is mandatory. Basic knowledge and understanding of hand & power tools. Animal husbandry skills or past farm experience preferred, but not required.

Duties Description Employee will be assisting with a flight pen construction project at the Reynolds Game Farm; this will include the use of hand and power tools, and proper safety equipment. Assist with installing flight pen netting, access doors, poultry wire and cabling on pens designed to hold pheasant until they are released, and establishing cover within the pens, as well as assist with the daily tasks associated with raising Ring-necked pheasants such as feeding, watering, recording daily data, monitoring flock health, assisting with moving various age classes of pheasants throughout the farm and delivering pheasant chicks and adults throughout New York State.

Additional Comments Must have valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Use of personal protection equipment, including a respirator, will be required. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain, work in remote areas and in adverse weather conditions. Travel and overtime may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.

This is a seasonal, hourly appointment with a duration of 4/1/19 to 11/30/19. Program needs will determine actual termination date, which may be prior to termination date indicated. Actual work schedule may vary and will be discussed at the interview.
