Minimum Qualifications Permanent service as a Dietitian 2 in a New York State agency eligible for transfer
OR
Maintains current certification in New York State as a Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist
OR
Maintains current registration with the American Dietetic Association as a dietitian

Duties Description Under the supervision of the Nutrition Services Administrator 2, the candidate will:
• Coordinate medical records for clinical nutrition. Ensure medical records reflect nutritional status of the individuals and
meet regulations.
• Maintain annual completion of assessments using the Nutrition Care Process.
• Attend ISP meetings, as well as entrance and exit meetings.
• Complete nutritional assessments, care plans, progress notes and discharge summaries.
• Makes recommendations to the treatment team for the maintenance and / or improvement of nutritional status.
• Recommend changes to meal plans to address nutritional concern.
• Process diet changes and provides the necessary training to the individual and staff concerning the change.
• Observes individuals at mealtime, which may involve travel to a variety of service locations.
• Provides nutrition care instructions to individuals, families, family care providers, food and nutrition staff and other health
care providers.
• Work as part of an Interdisciplinary team to determine the nutritional needs of the individual.
• Schedule and Conduct Nutrition In-service training/ education for house staff. Maintain attendance records and record
topics covered.
• Implement plans for corrective action.
• Ensure OPWDD regulations are adhered to and for overall health and safety of the individuals.
• Regular and proficient computer use.
• May be assigned to or asked to assist in other assignments.
