Resident Directors are responsible for participating in and accomplishing the College's mission by becoming actively involved in student personal growth and development, both within and outside the residence halls. The Division of Student Development is in the initial phase of implementing a "curricular approach," to which the Residential Life staff plays a critical part.
Specific responsibilities of this live-in position include oversight of approximately 200 students and supervision of a dynamic array of student staff including a team of Resident Assistants (RAs), Senior RAs, an academic peer advisor, night hosts, ECOs (sustainability mentors) and hall council members.
Responsibilities include counseling, educational programming, RA selection and training, individual and group advisement, administration/management responsibilities, department and/or campus committee involvement, support and enforcement of college policies and procedures, and support and commitment to the Student Development department and SUNY Cobleskill.
The candidate who is hired into this position will also have an assignment in an administrative area within the Residential Life Office or another College office as part of their administrative responsibilities (such as Student Conduct, Career Development, Wellness, etc.) and will assume responsibilities for that role as well.
The Residence Hall Director will participate in a campus-wide residence hall supervision schedule during the entire term of the appointment. The Residence Hall Director works as a team member with a staff of nine other full-time professionals who report to the Director of Residential Life.

The salary range for this position is $33,738 to $36,337.
This is a 10.5 month, full-time, term position.
