•Excellent organizational skills; strong attention to detail
•Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds
•Flexible hours with early morning and evening availability, as well as occasional weekends

Duties Description The State University of New York System Administration, located in Albany, New York, is searching for candidates for a temporary part-time (50%) hourly position of Facility Operations Assistant 1. Primarily responsibilities will include organizing, dropping and cleaning up after catered events. Work will be on an on-call basis, with a minimum of 20 hours per week.

The duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
•Ensures our SUNY Plaza caterers are providing the services we require based on the orders received, verifying their documentation and inspecting orders upon arrival.
•Sets up catering orders in rooms upon arrival, including ensuring that all required paper products, condiments, etc. are available in the appropriate amounts; placing out food and beverage in a logical order; and ensuring that hot foods rem ain hot and cold foods remain cold.
•Brews coffee, and sets out beverage orders from internal supplies.
•Assists with inventory management for building catering needs.
•Assists with ensuring that all SUNY Plaza catering storage locations are kept neat and stocked.
•Assists with SUNY Plaza room set-ups for events and meetings as it pertains to catering, including setting up linens and catering equipment.
•Assists with breaking down and cleaning up after catered events. This includes throwing away garbage, removing soiled items, ensuring unused food is taken care of according to policy, replacing soiled linens, cleaning equipment thoroughly, and restocking supplies.
