Minimum Qualifications Required Qualifications

• Must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the aforementioned minimum qualifications, it is preferred the candidate also have:
• Master's degree
• Previous experience in college Admissions or other college leadership role
• SUNY Cobleskill graduate
Duties Description The Office of Admissions at SUNY Cobleskill invites applications for a full-time appointment as an Admissions Assistant. SUNY Cobleskill seeks a sales and customer service oriented Admissions Assistant. This position is under the direct supervision of the Senior Admissions Advisor and the general supervision of the Director of Admissions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Out-of-Office Recruitment Travel:
• Professionally represent SUNY Cobleskill at a multitude of recruitment events in an assigned territory. Including annual visits to high schools, college fairs, and regional receptions. Recruitment travel within an assigned territory will include frequent overnight stays.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with high school counselors and other admissions professionals.
• Maintain daily communication with the Office of Admissions during all recruitment trips.
• Produce a comprehensive schedule of recruitment activities and events including detailed travel itinerary and budget information. Recommend updates and revisions as needed. Submit monthly travel and expense reports.
In-Office Duties:
• Answer phone calls, conduct presentations, and meet with prospective students and their families regarding all aspects of the admissions process.
• Participate in on-campus events such as Open House, Accepted Student Days, etc.
• Independently render admissions decisions on prospective student applications.
• Actively participate in staff meetings and training.
• Perform other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.
Visit-Experience Coordination:
• Serves as point-of-contact for the campus visit experience as it relates to prospective students and their families; including daily campus visitors, group visits, and coordinating larger Accepted Student Day and Open House events.
• Works closely with and communicates effectively with faculty and staff to plan and facilitate customized visitor experiences as needed.
Additional Comments • This is a SL-2 position.
• The salary range for this position is $42,000 - $48,000.
• The work schedule for this position varies depending on department needs.
