Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trades-worker or completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course.

Duties Description Maintenance and Rehabilitation on infrastructure, including buildings, dams, bridges, access roads, trails, boundary lines and Wildlife Management Areas. Working Knowledge of Safety standards and procedures, ability to perform moderate to heavy manual labor and lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to climb a ladder and work on heights from scaffolds and platforms. Ability to operate large tractors and mowers.

Additional Comments Must have valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Use of personal protection equipment, including a respirator, will be required. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain, work in remote areas and in adverse weather conditions. Travel and overtime may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be available for emergency response. Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies. Must have a valid Class B CDL within 6 months of appointment with appropriate endorsements. Will be subject to the Federal Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act (OTETA) of 1991, which requires employee testing for drug and alcohol abuse. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.

This is a seasonal, hourly appointment with a duration of 4/1/19 to 3/31/20. Program needs will determine actual termination date, which may be prior to termination date indicated. Actual work schedule, duties, and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at the interview.
