Salary RangeFrom $73284 to $92693 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Permanent: Reachable on current Civil Service list for this title; one year of permanent, competitive class service as a Project Manager 1; or one year of permanent, competitive class service in a title within two S-grades deemed eligible for transfer via Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.
Provisional: Should the canvass of the current Civil Service examination list for this title result in less than 3 interested responses, candidates may be considered for provisional appointment. Provisional candidates must take the next Civil Service examination for Project Manager 1 and must be reachable on the resulting eligible list to maintain employment. Candidates may qualify for provisional appointment with either:
1. Seven years of project management experience which must include planning and at least three of the following management process groups: origination (including governance/work intake, portfolio management, capacity/demand planning); initiating; executing; controlling; and closing. This experience must include the development of significant project management deliverables such as scope statements, schedules, budgets, quality plans, risks plans, and communications plans; or
2. An associate's degree and five years of the required experience as described in option 1; or
3. A bachelor's degree and three years of the required experience described in option 1; or
4. A master's degree and two years of the required experience as described in option 1; or
5. Current certification from the Project Management Institute as a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) and five years of the required experience as described in option 1; or
6. Current certification from the Project Management Institute as a Project Management Professional (PMP); or Program Management Professional (PgMP); or Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP).
Duties Description The Project Manager 1 position will be on the Data and Process Improvement Team within NYSIF's Executive Project Management Office (EPMO). The EPMO is responsible for carrying out projects identified by Executive and Management in the strategic plan and charged with management of NYSIF's Lean Program. The Data and Process Improvement Team is responsible for data reporting and analysis, managing NYSIF's Lean Program, writing training programs and materials, developing a strategic dashboard, and business process mapping. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinating portions of small and medium scope projects
- Assisting in coordinating larger projects
- Managing department portfolios
- Leading lean projects
- Supervising Business Systems Analysts
