Minimum Qualifications •Must have a bachelor degree from an accredited institution
•1 - 3 years of experience in either student activities, fraternity/sorority life, and/or orientation programs
•Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
•Must have a valid unrestricted drivers license with an acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
•Master's degree in higher education/student personnel or related field
•1-3 years of progressive professional experience in student activities, fraternity/sorority life, and/or orientation programs
•Affiliation with a fraternity/sorority
•Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite software
Duties Description SUNY Delhi seeks a dynamic, forward-thinking, and engaging Student Activities Assistant Director (Assistant Director of Fraternity & Sorority Life) to join the Center for Student Leadership & Engagement (CSLE) commencing in August 2019. The Mission of the CSLE is to prepare students for lifelong success, active engagement in a diverse world, and socially responsible citizenship through co-curricular engagement and leadership development. Principal duties include:
•Advising the Greek Council and providing support to fraternities and sororities.
•Developing, initiating, and implementing creative, positive educational, social, and developmental activities and programs for the student body.
•Serving as the co-advisor (with the other Assistant Director of Student Activities) of the Student Programming Board (SPB.)
•Maintaining and enhancing efforts to provide fraternities and sororities education on anti-hazing and risk management in accordance with best practices.
•Taking a primary role in developing and maintaining a comprehensive student organization advisor support/training/development program.
•Developing and implementing an ongoing set of programs and workshops on student organization member recruitment, retention, and officer transition.
•Assisting in the development and facilitation of noontime, late night, and weekend programming.
•Assisting with all Bronco Ready Programs and Welcome Weekend, which includes assisting in the selection, training, and supervision of Orientation Leaders (Bronco Ready Team members) for all events.
•Assisting with the planning and implementation of programmatic components of all new student orientation programs (Bronco Ready Days/Welcome Weekend.)
•Assisting with the planning and implementation of student leadership development and training programs/workshops for student leaders.
Additional Comments •Salary: $48,201 - $50,000, depending on experience
•Budget Title: Student Activities Assistant Director, SL3
•Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday days with frequent weekend and evening work. Occasional travel is required
•Reports to: Director of the Center for Student Leadership & Engagement
•This is a 12-month position
