Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The NYS OPWDD must assure that its service delivery system is supported by providing Statewide assessment methods to inform service authorizations. The Bureau of Assessment Oversight and Coordination (BAOC) oversees and facilitates the operational, clinical and technical elements of OPWDDs assessment approaches that will be used by all statewide providers of OPWDD certified services. The Coordinated Assessment System (CAS) is the OPWDD needs assessment tool for adults. OPWDD requires that every adult person receiving OPWDD services be assessed using the CAS. Reassessments need to be scheduled on a regular basis to keep the information updated. The CAS will be crucial to care planning, informing rate rationalization and assisting in determining the funding needs of each person served by OPWDD. Similarly, OPWDD facilitates assessment of children who receive OPWDD services. The Assessment Social Work Supervisor 1 will oversee the Assessment/Quality Assurance (QA)/Operations workforce, provide clinical insight on assessment processes and content, and develop methods for assuring quality in the assessment process.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Statewide BAOC Social Work Supervisor 1 will report to the BAOC Assistant Director and will be the direct supervisor for all OPWDD Assessment field employees across all five DDRO regions:
• Review and respond to emails in Coordinated assessment, including making contact with stakeholders, requesting relevant documentation, conducting a review of said documentation, with Central Office input to facilitate follow up meetings with stakeholders to resolve concerns about completed assessments
• Provide date and categorical information for all concerns related to assessments from stakeholders sent to OPWDD about completed assessments and to Central Office for reports to leadership
• Assist in development and implementation of training for operations staff on both the QA and assessment aspect of the job
• Develop and review the agenda and assist in leading Community of Practice calls for both QA and assessment aspects of operation
• Work on development of a BAOC Operations policy, including protocols and procedures, productivity standards, and workflows
• Become a Master Trainer for both the CAS assessor and QA aspects of the State Assessment operations workforce, and for any future assessment tools
• Serve as Administrator-on duty (AOD)call on a rotational basis
• Up to 20% Travel required to conduct training to staff, presentations to stakeholders and supervision of field staff
