Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trades-worker or completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course.

Two years of experience in the Motor Equipment Mechanic field is preferred.

Duties Description Must have the working knowledge of and the ability to use the methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the trade or trades in which assigned. The candidate will be required to perform all types of repairs on all types of motor equipment. Candidate must have a good working knowledge of motor equipment. May not be assigned to the same job location each day, should expect to be assigned anywhere in the working circle during work day. Must be able to perform moderate to heavy labor and have the ability to read plans, specifications and manuals and have the ability to understand and carry out written and oral directions. May be assigned to a small work crew and must be able to supervise and give directions. Work may include working outdoors in extreme conditions, candidate must be able to perform duties in such conditions.

Additional Comments Must have valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain, work in remote areas and in adverse weather conditions. Travel and overtime may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be available for emergency response. Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.

This position is funded through 3/31/20 with a likelihood of continuing after that date. Actual hours and work schedule may vary and will be discussed at the interview.
