Salary RangeFrom $41130 to $50405 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have three years of experience in large-scale cooking, one year of which must have included regular supervision of subordinate employees.
Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This Cook may supervise lower-level nutritional services staff in the preparation of meals and distribution of foods to locations within the facility. They may also provide mentoring opportunities to developmentally disabled individuals living in an OPWDD secure unit. These individuals exhibit behaviors requiring them to be in a secure facility. This employee will be responsible for providing these individuals with a safe and secure environment and assisting in the implementation of their habilitation plan.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Create menus for cafeteria service.
•Plan food ordering for said menu and determine type and quantity of food to be prepared.
•Interact with different purveyors by placing orders and follow up calls.
•Prepare food items such as slicing and portioning meats, making salads soups, entrees, baking, using recipes and a verity of kitchen tools.
•Prepare food to the proper consistency including prescribed diets.
•Prepare, cook, and serve breakfast items.
•Open and set up for morning service.
•Work with and mentor service recipients.
•Receipt and storage of deliveries
•Review and follow proper sanitation, time and temperature controls.
•Keep food and serving equipment in a clean, sanitized and working manner.
•Arrange for distribution/delivery of food to facility houses.

•For CSEA positions: Local Bidding Agreements will be honored.
