Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Permanent Qualifications: Candidates must currently be a permanent Rehabilitation Counselor 2 OR be reachable on the
current Civil Service eligible list.
Transfer Qualifications: Candidate must be eligible for transfer under Civil Service Law Section 70.1.
Provisional Qualifications:
Promotional: Candidates must have one-year permanent competitive service as a Rehabilitation Counselor 1 AND a bachelor’s degree in a human service field* OR NYS Licensure as a Registered Nurse.
Open Competitive: Candidates must have either:
1. A bachelor’s degree in a human service field* AND three years post-bachelor’s qualifying experience** OR
2. A master’s degree in a human service field* AND two years of post-bachelor’s qualifying experience** OR
3. A master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling AND one year of post-bachelor’s qualifying experience**
* For the purpose of these examinations, human service field includes disciplines related to the following: addiction studies; child and family studies; communication disorders; community health; education; gerontology; health administration; human services; nursing; nutrition; occupational therapy; physical therapy; psychology; recreation therapy, including art, dance, drama, and music; rehabilitation counseling; social work; and sociology.
** Qualifying Experience: To qualify for the examination you must have professional experience providing vocational, psychosocial, or rehabilitative/habilitative services in an agency primarily serving individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities, mental illness, or addictions. Internship experience does not count if it was credited toward the qualifying degree

Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Rehabilitation Counselor 2 will be responsible for overseeing the Day Training services at the Amenia Program Center:
• Explore new employment and volunteer opportunities for our individuals
• Assure wage determinations are completed and reviewed in a timely manner
• Assure that the pre-vocational notes and summaries are completed timely
• Complete invoices for Amenia Day Program contracts
• Complete annual recertification and eligibilities
• Oversee the pre-Voc, recycling program, and driver for the Voc rehab trucks (recycling deliveries, moving crews, etc.)
• Supervise the Day Hab Habilitation Specialist 1 (HS 1), the workshop HS1 and Rehabilitation Assistant 2 (RA 2), the Pre-
Voc RA 2s and Developmental Assistant 1
• Ensure all staff trainings are current
• Complete investigations
• Ensure Medicaid compliance-Attend all meetings for IRA individuals and liaison with MSC’s and individuals ITTs
• Complete attendance and billing reports for individuals in the workshop and pre-voc.
• Provide oversight of program billing

Additional Comments Travel within the five-county catchment area will be required in the performance of the duties of the position. This
may include a state-owned vehicle, as available, or the employee’s own car. An employee who uses his/her own car will be
reimbursed at current negotiated rates.
