Minimum Qualifications A. Experience

Four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative, consultative or supervisory experience in a mental health program including one of the following:

1. One (1) year of satisfactory experience in a position as administrative head of a multi- disciplinary treatment team;

OR

2. One (1) year of satisfactory supervisory, professional, or administrative experience in the development, operation, and/or implementation of the mental health service delivery system for State facilities, counties, or local/private agencies in two (2) or more of the following areas: program development, management procedures, community organization, resource planning, funding, program proposals, advisory boards, consumer and community advocacy and intergovernmental relations.

AND

B. Education

A Master's degree in a mental hygiene discipline (including physician assistant, occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work, speech pathology and audiology, communication disorders, psychology, recreation therapy, rehabilitation counseling, education, nursing), hospital administration, community mental health, business or public administration or other administrative area specifically related to health care, behavioral or social science from an accredited school; or a valid license to practice medicine in New York State or Canada. Current registration or licensure required where applicable.

Additionally, all candidates must be eligible to participate in Federal health care programs (e.g., Medicaid). Individuals excluded from participation in these programs will not be considered.

Duties Description The DDPC 1 – Operations is an essential member of the facility’s Executive Management Team. Under the general direction of the Executive Director and in close collaboration with the Clinical Director, the DDPC 1 – Operations designs, develops, evaluates and ensures the effective operation of the facility’s inpatient programs. The DDPC 1 – Operations participates in the development of the facility's short and long term goals; establishes policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective service delivery; ensures that all services provided are consistent with the current vision of the Executive Teams in OMH Central Office and BPC; supervises, coordinates, and directs the activities of subordinate managers; monitors and oversees staffing, assignments, and work schedules to ensure quality patient care; ensures that service delivery complies with OMH guidelines and regulatory agency standards; ensures the maintenance of safe environments for patient care with a focus on cultural competence, community care, and recovery; establishes and maintains effective working relationships with external organizations to maximize resources and implement program goals; and reviews and manages census by monitoring admissions and discharges to place patients on appropriate units and to make certain appropriate community supports are used to meet patient discharge needs.

Bronx Psychiatric Center (BPC), a Joint Commission (TJC) accredited mental health facility located in Bronx, New York, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Deputy Director, Psychiatric Center 1 – Operations (DDPC 1 - Operations). BPC operates inpatient and outpatient programs for adults with mental illness and is affiliated with Albert Einstein College of Medicine. BPC has 156 inpatient beds in six units. BPC’s outpatient programs include one (1) outpatient clinic, the White Plains Road Clinic; three (3) Community Service Programs: Health Home Management Coordination (HHMC), an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), and a Mobile Integration Team (MIT); a Residential Village comprised of two (2) Transitional Living Residences (TLR) and one (1) Crisis Residence with 116 beds; and a 104-bed Family Care Program.
