Minimum Qualifications EDUCATION:
• Admitted to the New York State Bar
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of 5 years legal experience in the practice of law subsequent to admission to the Bar.
Duties Description Legal advice related to State audits
• Provision of legal advice and guidance pertaining to the management and operations of State departments, agencies and Public Authorities that are audited by the Office, which includes providing legal guidance on Comptroller examinations and audits, legal research and analysis, preparation of legal opinions, and drafting and reviewing related legislation.
Assisting the Agency when audit-related litigation is commenced, either by or against the Agency
• Work with the Office of the Attorney General in representing the Agency when audit-related litigation is commenced, either by or against the Agency.
• Tasks include:
o Participating in strategy discussions with Executive Management, assisting with the drafting of legal memoranda and responsive papers, and facilitating any settlement negotiations.
Additional Comments PREFERRED COMPETENCIES:
• Admitted to the New York State Bar and have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the practice of law subsequent to admission to the Bar.
• Working knowledge of State laws and regulations governing the operations of State agencies and Public Authorities is preferred.
• Ability to display tact discretion and judgment as this position will require the review of confidential and sensitive matters and interaction with Executive management at the Agency and other State departments/agencies/public authorities, including the Office of the Attorney General with regard to matters in litigation.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Detail oriented with excellent written skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent oral, and interpersonal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively to all levels of staff both over the telephone and in-person.
• Flexibility and Adaptability.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare, understand and interpret often complex written materials, and design and present curricula to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as effectively, in a team environment.
• Experience working successfully on a Project which is a deadline driven environment where accuracy and attention to detail is required.

Starting Salary: $120,704 - $175,021
