Minimum Qualifications Six years’ experience in domestic violence service provision, training and/or education. A Bachelor’s degree can substitute for four years of experience; a Master’s degree can substitute for five years of experience; and a PhD may substitute for six years of specialized experience.

Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will have a degree in the area of human services, social sciences, or education and will have knowledge of domestic violence, social services, child welfare, sexual assault issues, and experience in making training or public presentations, as well as strong writing, speaking, organizational, computer and interpersonal skills. Preference may be given to candidates with knowledge of adult learning theory and the instructional design process.

Duties Description Under the general supervision of a Domestic Violence Program Administrator 1 (Program Coordinator) for the New York State Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence, the incumbent is responsible for the provision of domestic violence training and/or technical assistance to various audiences. Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:

• Providing technical assistance to other government agencies and community organizations including assessing needs, collecting and maintaining data and developing materials and job aids.
• Facilitating meetings and co-training curricula with staff from other agencies.
• Assisting in the review of domestic violence related educational, training, informational materials and policies.
• Conducting research to enhance project activities.
• Assisting in the development of training curricula and in the planning, coordination and implementation of training initiatives including: conducting needs assessment research; conducting task analysis research; developing learning objectives; developing training lessons and related materials including activities, practices, job aids, handouts, workbooks; contributing to the research and development of computer based training modules using a combination of lecture and visual applications; delivering training programs; evaluating training programs including tabulation, analysis and reporting of participant reaction surveys (level 1) and pre and post- tests (level 2) evaluations and level 3 evaluations; preparing quarterly and final reports regarding training initiatives; and recruiting for and coordinating training programs.
• Assisting in the development of informational and outreach materials.
• Conducting outreach programs (presentations) including coordinating project activities related to presentation delivery.
• Preparing written reports as required by the agency and/or funding sources
