Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must be currently in the Utilization Review Coordinator title, eligible for 70.1 transfer, reachable on the Civil Service Eligible List, or eligible for provisional appointment pending exam.
To be eligible for provisional appointment you must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office of Mental Health or the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in:

Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This Utilization Review Coordinator plays a vital role in monitoring and identifying quality care issues for all individuals admitted to a facility. Specifically, they are responsible for determining the necessity for such admission, the necessity for continued stay, and the appropriateness of the plan of care. In addition they participate with other clinical staff in developing and refining quality criteria, planning for and carrying out quality assurance reviews, conducting performance improvement activities, and participating in special projects. Responsibility also includes assignments related to Incident Management/Quality Improvement in the Broome DDSOO ICF environments.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Function as Utilization Review Coordinator for Valley Ridge CIT and Glenwood SOICF, specifics to be discussed at interview.
• Supervise subordinate staff.
• Chair and/or serve as a member of committees, as assigned to including Chairperson of Valley Ridge Incident Review Committee.
• Develop and maintain data collection systems.
• Prepare for Independent Utilization Review surveys.
• Other duties as assigned.
