Minimum Qualifications Qualifications:

Admission to the Bar of the State of New York and experience in the practice of law involving banking litigation and/or regulatory work preferred. Candidate should possess excellent analytical, writing, and research skills.

Appointment method:

This is an appointment to a position in the exempt jurisdictional class. As such, the incumbent of this position would serve at the pleasure of the appointing authority.

Duties Description The Department of Financial Services (DFS) is seeking to fill the position of Banking Regulatory Attorney within our Office of General Counsel (OGC). Selected candidate should be capable of analyzing various legal questions arising under the banking and regulatory laws relating to the financial industry; interacting with state?chartered banks, licensed branches and agencies of foreign banking corporations, licensed lenders, check cashers, etc.; assisting senior attorneys in producing written opinions or correspondence; and, providing general legal services to the Department of Financial Services.

Additional Comments Positions located within the New York City metropolitan area, as well as Suffolk, Nassau, Rockland, and Westchester Counties, are also eligible to receive an additional $3,026 annual downstate adjustment
