Minimum Qualifications Requirements:
•Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
•1-3 years of professional college admissions experience working with transfer students
•Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
•Experience using a Student Information System such as Banner, PeopleSoft, Datatel, etc
•Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills
•Must possess a valid unrestricted Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications:
•Master's degree from an accredited institution
•3-5 years professional college admissions experience working with transfer students
•Intermediate experience using Banner
•Experience with an Academic Advisement system such as Ellucian Degree Works
•Knowledge of Transfer Evaluation System (TES)
•Strength in data analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving
•Professional experience working with diverse student populations
Duties Description SUNY Delhi prides itself on being a welcoming college community for all. SUNY Delhi is seeking a highly energetic, engaging, and dynamic self-starter to join the Admissions staff as the Transfer Admissions Advisor.
The Transfer Admissions Advisor will be part of the professional staff on the Admission team representing SUNY Delhi to prospective students on campus, at secondary schools, community colleges, and at off-campus events. The Transfer Admissions Advisor must be self-directed, work well independently, and as part of a group. The incumbent is expected to become familiar with all SUNY Delhi academic programs, admissions curriculum criteria, and be an expert in transfer credit evaluation and equivalencies. They will independently review transfer applications, make admissions decisions, and provide detailed information to prospective students regarding on-campus curriculum, academic programs, residence hall programs, and financial assistance.
The Transfer Admissions Advisor will also participate in research and evaluation related to enrollment planning, demographic analysis and retention, and attend professional meetings and conferences as required.This position requires a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours, as well and seasonal travel.
Job Responsibilities:
•Counsel and advise prospective student's concerning the application and admission process, as well as, conduct admission appointments and interviews.
•Responsible for the review of transfer applications and the transfer credit evaluation process, including but not limited to evaluation of all undergraduate transcripts for transferrable credits based on institutional policies and practices; this includes reviewing re-admissions applications.
•Responsible for creating and maintaining course equivalency and entering transfer credits into our student information system (Banner).
•Serve as the Transfer specialist for the Office of Admissions leading annual trainings across campus to update and develop consistency for credit evaluations and admissions advisement.
•Assist the Associate Director of Admissions in the execution and promotion of College Articulation Agreements.
•Support all SUNY Delhi Recruitment, Enrollment, and Yield Events (Discover Delhi, Delhi Decision Day, Bronco Ready, and Welcome Weekend)
•Remain current on college programs, policies and procedures, as well as, regional and national transfer student enrollment trends, providing insight to the entire Admissions Team.
•Work with the Center for Student Leadership and Engagement on programming for National Transfer Student Week.
•Provide daily customer service support for all students and families; a generalist in all areas by having the ability to answer phones and emails thoroughly. Conduct meetings with students and families in-person or virtually, providing a comfortable atmosphere.
