Minimum Qualifications To be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.

Duties Description Under the supervision of a Senior Transportation Analyst, the Transportation Analyst would:

• Assist in developing inputs for NYMTC’s Travel Demand Model (the NYBPM). This will include the development of socioeconomic variables such as population and employment, and the analysis of traffic data such as screenline counts and travel time surveys;

• Assist in developing the dataset for the validation and calibration of the NYBPM. This will include review and analysis of the Regional Household Travel Surveys, establishment surveys, and the regional origin destination surveys;

• Work with NYMTC staff and member agencies to collect project data to code into the NYBPM to update the highway and transit networks;

• Run the NYBPM and analyze its output;

• Provide Quality Assurance/Quality Control of data;

• Run NYMTC’s Air Quality models and analyze the output;

• Assist in coordinating meetings, including preparing agendas and minutes;

• Respond to data requests for information from NYMTC member agencies, consultants, and the public.

• Assist in developing GIS Maps;

• Assist in developing and providing material to update NYMTC’s website;

• Perform other tasks as required by NYMTC management;

Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
