Title: Temporary MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT
Location: ITM Shop
Salary: $16 -$20 per hour
Grade: SG-9
Hours: Days 7:00am-3:30pm
Duration: Approx. 5 Months
Two years of full-time experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled tradesperson; OR completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services, such as the New York State Civil Service Employees Association-Partnership (NYS CSEA-P) Applied Skilled Trades Certificate Program*. Candidates may be expected to be qualified to use negative pressure respirators. Valid NYS Drivers License required.
Duties Description Ability to perform semiskilled activities, in the installation, inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of emergency lighting and exit signs. Ability to maintain lighting systems using test equipment and hand tools; ability to troubleshoot and repair problems with switches, relays, occupancy sensors, ballasts and lamps; ability to climb ladders; ability to lift 75 pounds
