Minimum Qualifications We are seeking candidates with at least 8 years of experience in all areas of antitrust as well as complex litigation experience, supervisory experience and excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills. Trial experience is a plus. A commitment to public service is essential.

Applicants must reside in (or intend to soon become a resident of) New York State and be admitted to practice law in New York State. In addition, the Public Officers Law requires that attorneys in the Office be citizens of the United States. A two (2) year commitment upon being hired is a condition of employment.

Duties Description The New York State Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking an experienced antitrust practitioner to serve as Deputy Bureau Chief for the Antitrust Bureau in New York City. The Antitrust Bureau is one of the nation’s premier state antitrust enforcement agencies, routinely initiating groundbreaking investigations and litigation to protect competition and consumers in New York, and nationwide.

The Antitrust Bureau enforces state and federal antitrust laws on behalf of New York and its residents, and is engaged in the full range of antitrust issues including horizontal and vertical restraints on trade, monopolization and mergers. Among other matters, the Bureau currently has a leading role in investigations of significant technology platforms, and in litigation and investigations in the pharmaceutical and health care sectors. The Bureau also has increased its focus on high-profile merger enforcement matters, such as the recent NY-led challenge to the T-Mobile/Sprint merger. The Antitrust Bureau frequently works closely with other Bureaus in the OAG, and with state antitrust enforcers, the United States Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission on matters of regional or national impact. The Deputy Bureau Chief will be expected to interface regularly with other state attorney general offices and representatives of the federal antitrust agencies, as well as with the private bar.

The Deputy Bureau Chief will assist the Bureau Chief in all aspects of Bureau leadership and management, as well as handle his or her own investigations. The Deputy Bureau Chief may also serve on the trial team of any case that we bring to trial.

Additional Comments OAG employees serve more than 19 million state residents through a wide variety of occupations. We offer a comprehensive New York State benefits package, including paid leave, health, dental, vision and retirement benefits, and family-friendly policies. As an employee of the OAG, you will join a team of dedicated individuals who work to serve the people of our State.

Candidates from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
The OAG is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to workplace diversity.

Some positions may require additional credentials or a background check to verify your identity.
