Minimum Qualifications Experience:

Five (5) years of responsible management, administrative or supervisory experience in the health services field including two (2) years as manager of one or more of the following areas functioning in support of clinical or treatment services: budget, fiscal, human resource management, affirmative action, information systems management, or support services in a general hospital, community mental health center, health care facility or a facility or agency providing services to people diagnosed with mental illness, developmental disabilities or mental retardation.

AND

Education:

A Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university or one recognized by the NYS Education Department as following acceptable educational standards in hospital, health care, public or business administration or a related field.

OR

Experience:

Seven (7) years of the experience described above including three (3) years as a manager as described above.

AND

Education:

A Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university or one recognized by the NYS Education Department as following acceptable educational standards.

Duties Description The Deputy Director, Psychiatric Center 2 – Administration serves as an essential member of the facility’s Executive Management Team. Under the general direction of the Executive Director, Psychiatric Center, the DDPC 2 - Administration is responsible for the day-to-day development and direction of administrative management services (human resources, fiscal services, and support services) of the facility. The DDPC 2 - Administration assists the Executive Director and provides administrative leadership; implements facility policies; interprets policy guidelines and monitors the effectiveness of these policies; and ensures Joint Commission and CMS standards for Administrative Services are met.

Additional Comments Pilgrim Psychiatric Center (PPC), a New York State Office of Mental Health state-operated, Joint Commission accredited, and CMS certified facility is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Deputy Director, Psychiatric Center 2 – Administration (DDPC 2 – Administration).
PPC provides a continuum of inpatient and outpatient psychiatric, residential, and related services with approximately 265 inpatient beds and 4 outpatient treatment centers, plus one ACT Team providing services throughout Suffolk County. Inpatient Services are in two modern complexes and offer a wide variety of treatment options. The campus, which houses multiple tenants: housing providers, mental health court, ATC, and Crisis Residence, is within easy access to parkways, public transportation, and local shopping.

Background and Investigative Fees:

Candidates will also be subject to a check against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs, and the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR) maintained by the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS).
