Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trades-worker or completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course.
Duties Description Assist with maintenance and rehabilitation on infrastructure, including buildings, recreation facilities, bridges, dams, access roads, trails, boundary lines and wildlife management areas. May perform routine maintenance, installation, and repair tasks in one or a combination of the mechanical, building construction, motor equipment, and electrical trades. This position requires a knowledge of safety standards and procedures. Will perform moderate to heavy manual labor and lift objects up to 80 pounds. May be required to climb a ladder and work on heights on scaffolds and platforms.
Additional Comments Must have a valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Use of personal protection equipment, including respirator, will be required. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain, work in remote areas and in adverse weather conditions. Travel, overtime, and overnight travel may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be available for emergency response. Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies. Must obtain a Class B CDL within 6 months of appointment with appropriate endorsements and no air brake restriction. Will be subject to the Federal Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act (OTETA) of 1991, which requires employee testing for drug and alcohol abuse. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 80 pounds.
This is a temporary position funded through 3/31/22, with a possibility of continuing after that date. Actual work schedule and hours may vary, and will be discussed at the interview.
