Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in media, new media, English, communications, journalism, broadcasting, public relations or digital marketing and four years of experience in public or governmental relations, and/or writing or producing content for various media and digital platforms. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be considered, at the discretion of the Corporation.
Knowledge/skill/experience in the following areas is desired:
• Superior writing and editing skills; ability to draft and compose documents and digital content on multiple platforms
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in journalism and public representation of an organization or State entity
• High degree of initiative, professional competence, and independent judgment
• Demonstrated ability to make decisions under pressure
• Strong interpersonal skills and professional presence that is collaborative and team-oriented
• Experience with Drupal, HTML and CSS programming technologies
• Knowledge of digital accessibility and compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Creative Suite, and content management systems
• Ability to create graphic designs for digital use on web and social media, using Adobe Creative Suite
Working Conditions and Physical Abilities
Work is primarily of an administrative nature and is performed in an office setting with the requirement for fine manipulation skills for computer use.
Duties Description The Digital Communications Coordinator reports to the Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and is responsible for curating and coordinating the Corporation’s digital and social media presence and preparing public information relating to EFC. The Digital Communications Coordinator, in conjunction with the CAO, is also responsible for preparing facts, comments and information relating to the Corporation that are to be provided to the media, governmental entities, and the public.
Essential Duties
• Establishes and manages social media presence by creating, publishing, and maintaining content, monitoring and tracking feedback and posting appropriate responses, capturing and analyzing metrics, and recommending changes based on these metrics.
• Works with Corporation staff to develop, organize, and manage content of EFC’s external and internal websites using content management software. Creates and updates digital content, designs layout, and captures and analyzes digital media metrics. Recommends changes based on website analytics and usability testing.
• Participates in various activities related to or in support of the Corporation’s public information program including preparing presentations, designing displays and exhibits, answering inquiries from the public and the news media, maintaining a schedule of EFC events, arranging public gatherings, reviewing external publications, coordinating public appearances, and providing assistance and advice on community outreach.
Additional Comments The Environmental Facilities Corporation (EFC) assists communities throughout New York State to undertake critical water quality infrastructure projects by providing access to low cost capital, grants, and expert technical assistance. EFC provides financial assistance from both the Federal and State levels in the form of loans, grants and guarantees as well as tax-exempt and taxable bonds in pooled and stand-alone public bond sales.
