Minimum Qualifications -Ability to machine-sew and hand-sew and read and modify patterns is required
-Must have a working knowledge of 18th century clothing
-Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required
-Must possess and maintain valid driver’s license as a term and condition of employment

Duties Description The position is at the Fort Montgomery State Historic Site, a Revolutionary War fort built by the Patriots and captured by British and Loyalist forces after a desperate battle in October 1777. The incumbent will help bring history alive for thousands of visitors a year.

- Manufacture, alteration and repair of reproduction period clothing and accessories using period-appropriate techniques.
- Written and photographic documentation of work performed.
- Research of period patterns and garments using on-site and online resources as well as consultation with experts in the field.

Additional Comments Schedule: Wednesday and Thursday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

-The incumbent must be flexible, detail-oriented and self-motivated.
-The incumbent must possess and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
-Background in textiles history highly desirable
