Minimum Qualifications Current NYS Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive status as an Office Assistant 1, G06 OR a NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title at or above a G04 and deemed eligible for transfer to Office Assistant 1, G6 under Section 70.1 of the NYS Civil Service Law. Individuals certified eligible for the 55b/c program under the Governor's Program to Hire Persons/Veterans with Disabilities pursuant to Section 55b/c of the Civil Service Law will also be considered. Preferred Qualifications: The ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities; knowledge of the Department’s policies and procedures; familiarity with Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), scheduling meetings; making travel arrangements; and experience working with confidential matters.
Duties Description The Office Assistant 1 (OA1) will support the Division of Family Health’s, Bureau of Administration Bureau Management Team by scheduling meetings, and conference calls, maintaining staff calendars, arranging travel, maintenance of program files and tracking systems, responding to phone inquiries from Department staff and other duties as assigned.
