Minimum Qualifications Permanent transfer candidates: Current Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Health Program Administrator (G18); OR current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title eligible to transfer under Section 52.6, Section 70.1, or Section 70.4 of the Civil Service Law to a Health Program Administrator (G18), Health Program Administrator Trainee 1 (NS), or Health Program Administrator Trainee 2 (NS). Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate would have experience with data systems including Access and Excel and experience with Grants Gateway. Excellent written, oral and computer skills.
Duties Description The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a federally funded public health nutrition program which provides reimbursement for healthy meals and snacks served to children in family day care homes, day care centers, emergency shelters, afterschool programs and adults in day care. The HPA will work with public health nutritionists and grantees to implement Eat Well Play Hard in Child Care Settings (EWPHCCS) initiative through contracts with selected organizations.
The HPA will review grantee annual budgets, vouchers and reports for completeness and accuracy. In addition to handling grant management and procurement activities, the HPA will prepare materials and handle logistics for grantee training. The incumbent will also coordinate design and printing of the EWPHCCS curriculum/materials and the purchase of items for EWPHCCS implementation. The HPA will support CACFP outreach activities by working with the Public Health Nutritionist to analyze statewide data, prepare reports, outreach materials and presentations. The HPA will reconcile and track procurement card purchases.
Additional Comments Traineeships are non-statutory, resulting in salary G18 upon completion
