Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Biostatistics/Statistics, Epidemiology, Environmental/Public Health or a related field and three years of post-degree professional research experience in the appropriate field; OR a Master’s degree in one of the above fields and two years of such experience in the appropriate field; OR a Doctorate in the appropriate field.
Preferred Qualifications: Graduate degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Statistics, Environmental Sciences, Public Health, or a related field. Experience in project coordination, data management, research, surveillance, large data, and data analysis. Proficiency in SAS or similar statistical and/or database management software. Experience conducting spatial analysis and multiple regression analysis with statistical software. Excellent written and oral communication skills for diverse audiences, and strong organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively work as part of a team and interact with individuals across all levels of an organization.
Duties Description The Research Scientist 2 will be responsible for assisting senior researchers. Major responsibilities will include project management and data collection, including overall responsibility for data quality. Duties will also include; designing and conducting research studies on cross-cutting research initiatives; performing data organization, data linkage and analysis; and summarizing results through tables, graphs, and reports; providing scientific and epidemiologic advice data interpretation and providing recommendations for public health protection and policy.
Additional Comments Permanent, full-time, non-competitive appointment. Routine travel, including occasional overnight travel and travel to areas which may not be served by public transportation, is required. (~20%)
